Kalashnikov Bayonets of the World

Up until last week I knew nothing of Soviet, or in fact any ComBloc bayonets. My collection to date is mainly 19th & 20th century European pieces.....

.....but saw this bayonet at my local auction and decided to have a punt, and got it. After some research online, and thanks mainly to this site, I think it's Russian and a bit of a mix? Believe it to be AKM Type II, no idea of age though. I think the scabbard is from the Izhevsk armoury but the bayonet from the Tula plant, due to small star on the ring attachment. I have no idea what the two markings are on the side of the hilt? I guess the hand engraved number on the handle is the owners service number?

Hopefully the pics will work. I should add it has a brown, dimpled leather belt hanger with wire type D ring, but it's not in the photos.

So, question is, have I identified it right?
Any idea re it's history?
Is mixing of scabbards and bayonets fairly common?
Shame it's missing the hand strap.

Best thing about this bayonet is the fact it has got you interested in AK bayonets.
That is indeed a Tula made knife.
It is stuck in an Izhevsk made scabbard.
It is a Type II AKM or 6X4 bayonet.
Mixing of knives and scabbards occurred during arsenal reworks in Russia, arsenal reworks in Bulgaria, and in the filed in 3rd world countries.
This bayonet likely either came out of the Balkans and is left over from the Balkan Wars or came out of the sand box (Middle East). It is missing the hanger and wrist strap as well as being mismatched. I don't know what you paid for it, but for me it is maybe a $20 to $30 US piece. Still a nice start.

Thanks Martin. It's good to know my basic ID of the knife was about right, largely thanks to this place.
Any idea what the other two marks on the side of the guard are, and rough age?

Have included pics with hanger, but alas no hand strap.
