Very nice Romanian AKM 6X3 Type I bayonet and scabbard. Complete with matching numbers and correct Romanian hanger and wrist strap. The Romanian AKM bayonets and scabbards were numbers matched with the rifles during production. Since the rifles also had the year of production marked with the serial number we can tell when the bayonets were made as well.
This bayonet and scabbard, # SBS 4412, was made in 1986.
Usually, the bayonets and scabbards produced in the 1980s were issued with the later style fabric and leather hangers. However, there is no definite information regarding that and they may have used what ever was on hand at the time. Both are considered correct. Mike
