Post by Marco »

Hi everybody,

Few days ago, I posted a topic about a white MAADI (egypt index) with a particular attachment for the hanger.
So now for me, there is three kinds of scabbard hanger brackets.
Pictures are following, and if you have other models, please send us pictures.
Thanks guys.

Hi Marco,
The hanger brackets used on the metal AKM Type I scabbards have followed the designs and methods originated by Russia. Only the very early Russian ones used the flat bar style hanger bracket and they were later reworked to be able to use hangers with a snap hook. This was done by cutting a semi-circular piece from the lower edge of the bar. All later scabbards from Russia and the other countries used the bent wire style. These brackets are all basically the same with only minor variations in forming and installation. For more info and pictures please go to the "Russia" index and topic "Russian AKM 6X3 Type I Scabbard Variations". Scroll all the way through. Mike
